First Gardening Attempt

Here's my first attempt at gardening. It's a ground cover called Asian Jasmine, which grows about 10 inches tall and will spread to fill the entire area. Until it gets established, we have a wire fence to keep the dogs out (they love digging in wet dirt to lay in & keep cool). I can't remember the last time (if ever) I planted anything other than in pots. Guess time will tell what kind of gardener I am. Whenever I attempted planting in pots, Jim's question was always:  "So what are you going to kill this year?" (oops.....)

  1. Yay, a garden! Be aware: planting is addictive. There is something (instilled in us by Jehovah no doubt) very soothing and rewarding to having your hands in the soil, putting seeds or seedlings in the ground, and nurturing them. Once you plant the very first thing, your viewpoint of dirt somehow changes and you start scouring your property for suitable areas to put something else in the ground. I will be waiting for those pictures soon. Ha ha!
